I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH

LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having "In God! We Trust" on our money and having "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ACCEPTED PROTOCOL FOR RESPECT TO OUR FLAG
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should  not Be dipped to any person or thing.  Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

    (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a
signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
    (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground,
the floor, water, or merchandise.
    (c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always
aloft and free.
    (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery.
    (e) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
    (f) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner
whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or
handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or
boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard.
    (g) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic
uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military
personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations.  The flag
represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the
lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the
heart.
    (h) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting
emblem for display, should be retired and destroyed in a dignified way,
preferably by burning.  For individual citizens this should be done discreetly so
that the act of destruction is not perceived as a protest or desecration. Many
American Legion Posts conduct disposal of unserviceable flag ceremonies on
June 14, Flag Day, each year. This ceremony creates a particularly dignified and
solemn occasion for the retirement of unserviceable flags.

What are the penalties for violating the Flag Code?
    (answer) None.  Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10, Paragraphs 171-178 were
written to codify accepted practices and traditions in respect to the Flag. Each
statement in the Flag Code is written in the conditional context of the word
"should," indicating this is what is expected. Violations of this conduct are a
breach of etiquette and not punishable by law.

What is meant by the term "breaking the colors"?
    (answer).  The term "breaking the colors" most likely evolved from
"General Instruction #3 in the Officer's Guide and Manual of Ceremonies which
states: "Comrades should be careful never to pass between the Flags and the station
of the Commander." In many areas of the country, this area is considered
"hallowed ground" and violations are quickly noted. There is, however, no reference
to this custom in Flag code provisions.

I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin of any guest-worker/amnesty plan on the table in Washington. The image of the American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on American soil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail. Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and federal government. If you choose to remain uninvolved do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be "redistributed" to the activists while you are so peacefully staying out of the "fray".  Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference. One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one........
